Middle School
As kids enter adolescence, they benefit from solid biblical instruction, outstanding role models, and positive interaction with peers.  We try to provide those experiences through a variety of ministries.  Check them out.

  • Cadets Boys Club
Cadets is a fun, fast paced club for boys in 3rd through 8th grade. Similar to Boys Scouts in many ways, Cadets has the added dimension of being Christian. Counselors lead groups of 4 or 5 boys in bi-weekly meetings. We aslo have special events such as campouts, rolling skating parties, neighborhood garbage clean-ups, and much more. We meet the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Wednesday, September through May. The meeting starts at 7:00pm and end at 9:10pm. For more information about Cadeting, visit the Calvinist Cadet Corps site, the Camporee site, or call the church office at 708.448.0186. www.calvinistcadets.gospelcom.net

  • GEMS Girls' Club
GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) is a group for girls between the 2nd and 8th grades. The group meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 7:00 - 8:45pm. GEMS is a great place for girls to hang out with their friends and also to make new friends. A typical night includes a Bible lesson, crafts, and singing. Throughout the year the group also does service projects, holds a flower sale, and goes on a campout. www.gemsgc.gospelcom.net

  • Middle School Youth Fellowship
Right after our 9:00am worship service on Sunday mornings, our 6th-8th graders run over to "The Link" for a time of fellowship, large group instruction, and small group interaction. This ministry, led by Michelle Van Noord, also includes social outings during which the boys and girls can interact with one another in a positive way.

What is "Catechism
A Catechism is a scriptural study guide used by Christian churches to instruct its members in the faith.

Our church uses the "Heidelberg Catechism" developed during the Protestant Reformation in 1563. Other resources we use for spiritual development include the Apostle's Creed, the Nicene Creed, the Belgic Confession, the Canons of Dort, and other resources developed by the Christian Reformed Church of North America.
