One of the greatest gifts that we can share is fellowship with one another in Christ. We have the opportunity to encourage one another, love one another, lift eachother up when we fall, and pray for each other. This is part of the joy of being in the family of God.
The recent sermon series “Making the Most of Time” encouraged us to faithfulness in the areas of worship, the Gospel, our service, and community. These four areas coincide with the key points of our walk with
Christ. In order to experience growth in each of these areas we need to remain in Christ. John 15:4 says “Remain in me, and I will also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must
remain in the vine. Neither can you bearfruit unless you remain in me”.
Prayer is what keeps us connected to God and to one another. God loves to hear from us in prayer. And prayer produces a stronger relationship with him and it strengthens our faith. When we pray we turn our focus to God. Our Father gets all the adoration and praise, along with endless thanks for all He has done. He is our Father, to whom we can confess our sins and ask humbly and earnestly for help.
Prayer & Praise night is an opportunity for us to focus on connecting to God and each other through prayer, Scripture reading, and singing. Every Wednesday evening from 6:45 to 7:30 PM we will be gathering together in the Sanctuary for a time of Prayer & Praise. Everyone – women and men, young and old - is welcome.
Each week, in the Pathfinder, there will be an announcement of what will be focused on during that week’s prayer service: whether it is missions, our children, teachers, pastors, church, nation, etc.… Each
evening, prayer cards can be filled out. The cards are then shared with another person in attendance so
that we can pray for each other. During the services sometimes we pray silently, sometimes we pray together in groups, sometimes we pray out loud. Everyone is free to participate as they are comfortable and as they are led by the Holy Spirit. The important thing is that we pray together and for one another.
Now is the time for us to come out and pray together and see where God leads us. For His name we give all the glory! Hope to see you Wednesday night!
